Viviane Dib
Viviane Dib has a degree in Biology from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a Master’s degree in Ecology from the same University. During my Masters, her studies focused on aquatic and ecosystem ecology, especially on the relationship between biodiversity loss and ecosystem functioning. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at Postgraduate Program in Ecology - UFRJ, working under Professor Bernardo Strassburg’s advising. Viviane is leading a project to develop a map of priority areas for restoration in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, based on water-related ecosystem services, as requested by the Brazilian Ministry of Environment. She is also a research assistant at IIS; an organization based in the city of Rio de Janeiro that is dedicated to promoting the transition to sustainability, combining production requirements, environmental services, and social development. Main research interests: I’m interested in Landscape Ecology; Forest Landscape Restoration; Ecosystem Services Modeling; Forest and Water Relationship; Water-related Ecosystem Services.
