Roberto Schaeffer is Professor of Energy Economics at the Energy Planning Program of COPPE/UFRJ. PhD in Energy Policy from the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) and Researcher 1A of CNPq. Works in the area of Integrated Assessment Models for climate change mitigation. Member of the Methodological Panel on Baselines and Monitoring of the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism (UNFCCC CDM-Meth Panel) between 2002 and 2011. Co-recipient, along with other scientists, of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for research contributions to the IPCC. More than 250 scientific publications, 140 of them in international journals, including high impact journals such as Nature, Nature Climate Change, Nature Communications, Nature Energy and Science.
