Apostolis Koutinas is Chemical Engineer (University of Patras, Greece) with PhD in Biochemical Engineering (UMIST, UK). He is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the Agricultural University of Athens (Greece). His research focuses on bioprocess and biorefinery development including process design and sustainability analysis. Since 2011, Dr Koutinas has participated in more than 30 research projects funded by national and international funding agencies (e.g. national and bilateral projects, Prima, FP7, H2020, BBI JU, Life) and various companies. He has published more than 140 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals (h-index 39, Scopus), 19 book chapters and 1 edited book. He currently serves as co-Editor of the Biochemical Engineering Journal (Elsevier).
