Antonio Carlos Campos de Carvalho is Professor of Physiology and Biophysics at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where he heads the Cellular and Molecular Cardiology Laboratory. He holds a part time position as Visiting Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. His research focuses on Cardiovascular Physiology and Pathology, with emphasis on the following subjects: regenerative medicine, cell therapies, and stem cells. He coordinates the National Science and Technology Institute in Regenerative Medicine and the National Network of Cell Therapies. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of the Developing World (TWAS).
